Boys' Brigade

Wednesday evenings at Burnfoot Community School

“The advancement of Christ’s Kingdom among boys and the promotion of habits of obedience, reverence, discipline, self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness”

Our Boys’ Brigade Company provides a balanced programme of activities for children and young people from 6 -18 years old. We use resources which have been developed to help our leaders work with the boys in relevant and creative ways. Through these programmes the Boys’ Brigade aims to make a positive contribution to the lives of the young people in our midst and enabling our Officers and helpers to share something of their faith with the boys.

Knit & Natter

Fortnightly on a Tuesday morning in Burnfoot Church

Our Knit and Natter Group meets fortnightly on a Tuesday morning in the Church and is led by Church members. We are an informal group of people who come together through our shared love of knitting, sewing and all things crafty. We welcome people from our community who would like to join us to knit, crotchet, sew or even just chat together. Some of us bring our own knitting and sewing along to continue with and some of us knit or sew items which are often donated to the local hospital or sold to raise funds for Church or local Charities. We are always willing to pass on our skills and knowledge to anyone who would like to learn to knit, sew or crochet. And there’s always tea and biscuits to be enjoyed.

Burnfoot Churches Working Together

Look out for various events throughout the year

Fresh Expressions of Church happens in our community with local Churches coming together to organise events and activities at the heart of our Community. There is a core group of people representing local Churches of varying denominations who help to organize and lead Messy Church type afternoons and Holiday Clubs for local families and children with lots of fun, crafts, stories and songs. Regular seasonal events are also held and include Community Carol Singing as well as Easter and Harvest Celebrations where local residents of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend. These activities and events usually take place in our local Community Hub and always include tea, coffee and refreshments ensuring that we feed bodies as well as minds. These events give us the opportunity to share our faith and our love of Jesus with our community.
